The Strategy provides a set of principles and strategic priorities to facilitate greater self-determination for Traditional Owners and to provide a policy and practice framework for an effective Traditional Owner-led Native Foods and Botanicals Industry.

The Traditional Owner Game Management Strategy sets out how Victorian Government departments and agencies will partner with Traditional Owners to deliver practical actions to build Traditional Owner participation in hunting, land management and conservation.

The Strategy is the first of its kind in Australia and sets out a framework to systematically enable Victorian Traditional Owners to lead planning and activate cultural knowledge and practices to manage Country.

The Victorian Traditional Owner Cultural Fire Strategy articulates Victorian Traditional Owners’ long term goals and objectives at State-wide and Country (regional) levels, and proposes sensible and achievable strategies and actions to achieve those over time.
