This agenda-setting conference brought business leaders together to explore collaborative ways to transform the Indigenous economy. Professor Marcia Langton, AM, gave the keynote address and Eddie Fry, Chair of the Indigenous Land Council, spoke on the potential of the Indigenous Estate. Dean Yates a Partner at Ernst & Young gave his insights into current and future industries of growth to explore how Traditional Owners can take advantage of future opportunities.
The two day conference concluded with a session facilitated by Dr Ian Williamson of Melbourne Business School, charting the barriers and opportunities of the Indigenous economy.

Indigenous Procurement Conference. 7 December 2015
Victoria is the only State without a Preferential Procurement Policy. The Federation wants to work with government to develop a state approach that will level the playing field for Aboriginal Corporations and create a demand for Aboriginal suppliers that our members are ready to meet.
The Federation of Victorian Traditional Owner Corporations in partnership with Melbourne University’s Australian Indigenous Studies Unit hosted an Indigenous Procurement Conference at Crown Melbourne in December 2015. A summary of the conference can be downloaded here.
